Blog readers know that I’m an advocate of small-scale, sustainable agriculture, local economies, and environmental preservation. Oh, and I’m a writer.
For those who like details, here’s the official bio:
Flair and Macavity Award-winner Deborah Adams’ first novel, All The Great Pretenders, was nominated for the Agatha Award in 1993. Since that time, Adams has earned a reputation among readers, critics, and booksellers as a talented author who consistently produces a more compelling story with each new novel.
A seventh-generation Tennessean, Adams brings to her work an appreciation for the lore and traditions of the South. Combining her sharply perceptive observations of human nature with a mature and biting wit, she creates satirical novels that gently tweak the reader’s conscience while mercilessly tickling the funny bone.
In addition to novels, her work has appeared in various anthologies and literary magazines. She is a lifetime member of the Southern Literary Coalition, the Tennessee Writers Alliance, and her local humane society, and an active member of various local and community organizations.
She has been a guest lecturer at numerous events, including the Southern Festival of Books, Appalachian Studies Conference, the Warioto Regional Library Board of Trustees Conference, Southeastern Booksellers Association, Midwest Mystery Conference, Georgia Library Association Convention, Emory University, East Tennessee State University Writers Program and the Appalachian Writers Conference at Radford (VA) University.

I saw your blog on the wordpress site. My family had friends in Dry Creek, CA and I’m wondering if that’s where you are?
No, I’m in Tennessee. Maybe my Dry Creek can be a sister community to Dry Creek, CA?
Well – look-a-here…. Did you really channel ole Bubba, or were you inspired by my book about such things, released last year and promoted for about 6 years on public access cable channels? Either way… we should talk!
DJ Mitsch – The original Mystic GRITS!
What?!? Has Bubba been cheating on me?
Actually, I put that little booklet together around 1998, but what a bizarre coincidence that is! Although since Jesus Creek became my Facebook friend, I should have expected more weirdness, eh?
Would you like to write a post for my blog about your book?
